Seeing Red

$1,000.00

37 x 57”

Pieced and quilted, reclaimed vintage Japanese cotton; machine embroidery.

Japanese textiles are among my favorite materials. Seeing Red was constructed of woven cotton reclaimed from vintage summer kimono (aka yukata) that were no longer wearable for one reason or another.

After visiting an exhibition of large, color field paintings by the midcentury American artist, Mark Rothko, I hoped to create my own interpretation of Rothko's iconic work in the muted colors of this irreplaceable reclaimed vintage fabric.

PRICE INCLUDES FREE SHIPPING AND SALES TAX. (Shipments via regular ground service, to addresses in the contiguous US)
