PRACTICALLY POINTLESS
Every artist, crafter and hobbyist that I know finds themselves with excess materials once a project is complete, but what do they do with those leftovers? In my case, I store fabric “scraps” in a bin. Sometimes these leftovers get used in a new project, but more often than not the bin gets filled with fabric from various projects. Recently, with the bin nearing capacity I challenged myself to create a piece that would use a majority of fabric from the bin. In addition I decided that I wouldn’t be influenced by the style of the fabric (traditional prints versus contemporary, hand dyed versus commercial fabric, etc). I would focus on color and scale and ignore all else. I applied this freestyle plan to the wonky star blocks I pieced, ignoring the need to make every point perfect. Hence the name of the quilt.
100% cotton (hand-dyed and commercial) fabrics. Machine pieced and quilted.
Sleeve attached to back for hanging.
