Coral Canyon is from my sun print series. Fabric paint was applied, and the fabric was crimped and set in the sun to dry. The first detail pictures is the result of that step. I saw a desert canyon in the patterns. I enhanced the image with Inktense pencils and blocks and did heavy free motion quilting to add definition to the cliffs.
The end result reminds me of the canyons in Arizona where I lived for many years. Viewing from an outcropping in the foreground one can see for many miles into the canyon and the mountains beyond.
