Collecting Art

Karol Kusmaul

Although I’m a prolific artist and have way more of my own art than I have wall space to display it, I can’t seem to resist collecting small works of art from other artists.  I am fortunate to belong to an international organization of fiber artists called SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Associates).  SAQA holds fundraising auctions twice a year, offering small treasures – art quilts donated by the members.  It’s always a treat when they arrive, and I can see up close how they were produced.  I have several hanging in my home, and others that I rotate occasionally.  It gives me great joy to see them daily.

Following are a few works that are currently on display, and the artists who created them.

Bodil Gardner, Denmark and Pamela Allen, Canada

Sarah Entsminger, USA

Phyllis Cullen, USA and Trish Hodge, USA

Regina Dunn, USA and Julia Graber, USA
