Let it Grow
36”H x 26”W
Among the many things that influence my art making, music is a constant. My husband is a musician so we don’t just listen to music but he also plays. Jazz has both structure and looseness Rock songs take us back to a time when we were younger and perhaps a bit more carefree. This piece takes its title from an Eric Clapton song called ‘Let it Grow’.
Leaves and blooms from my garden have captivated my attention so completely that they have become the subject of my new series. In this case the cyanotyped photograms are printed over previously dyed fabrics. The leaves are individually hand cut from the exposed fabric and appliqued to a collaged background of artist created dyed fabrics.
